At the end of September the Club held its Autumn event in the Surrey Hills, based at the Hartsfield Manor Hotel in Buckland, near Dorking.
Thirty members of the Club, many in their Edwardian Renaults, arrived on a Tuesday afternoon to meet up with old friends and prepare for the next two days. The organisers had planned two days of driving with routes that largely avoided the busiest roads.
On the first day the route took via a coffee stop near Lingfield to Standen House for lunch and a chance to look over this enchanting National Trust property and gardens.
The second day took us on a scenic country route to a pub in Wisborough Green for an arranged lunch. In the evening a private reception and dinner was arranged for our group to round off the event. An event that was enjoyed by all.
All the old Renaults, from 1905 to 1913 completed the two days without breakdowns and performed as we are used to seeing, happy to be out and being used.
Our next event will be a social gathering for a Sunday lunch near Bracknell at the beginning of February.
