The Renault Frères Club is essentially a small and, we hope, friendly club with four events a year - a winter lunch time gathering in January, a run to France in late May, a summer picnic in July and a weekend run in this country in September. We have a magazine, the Direct Drive, which is published quarterly. We try to assist members in various ways, whether from our own records or knowledge, or by putting them in touch with other members who might be able to help.
The aims of the Club are the bringing together of, and the use of, pre-1940 Renault vehicles for the pleasure of club members and the general public who will see them in action, with the following specific aims:-
-
to assist in the discovery, restoration, preservation and use of pre-1940 Renault vehicles plus the immediate post war production of cars.
-
to acquire, where possible, and maintain such historic records as may be of use to members in the above aim.
-
to promote, through the mutual co-operation of members, the pooling of technical information and assistance, availability of spare parts etc.
-
to liaise with Renault UK Ltd, Renault of France, CAR (Club des Amateurs d’Anciennes Renault) of Paris, as may be necessary for the above aim.
-
to promote meetings and rallies, both in the UK and continental countries, for the benefit of members.
The Renault Frères Club is run by enthusiasts (the French say ‘Amateurs’) of early Renault vehicles for other enthusiasts of these same vehicles and welcomes into membership persons with a similar enthusiasm, whether they be novice or expert. Membership of the Renault Frères Club is open to any person interested in the aims of the Club.
